The District Criminal Court Program provides an opportunity for those involved in a court case to sit down with a trained mediator to try and talk through their dispute. Those who participate in m mediation will have a chance to tell their side of the story, to hear the other side, and to search for ways to settle their disagreements.
If an agreement is reached, your case may be dismissed. If no agreement can be reached, the case will remain before the court. The District Attorney or the judge can remove your case from Mediation.
In accordance with North Carolina General Statute 7A-38.5-38.7: a $60 non-refundable fee must be paid by the defendant prior to Mediation
